ENGR 76: Information Science and Engineering

Stanford University, Ayfer Özgür, Spring Quarter 2023–24

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Will the lectures be recorded?

Yes, we are planning to livestream and record the lectures. The videos will be available on Canvas after the lecture. We still recommend students to attend all lectures to improve the experience for both students and the teaching staff. Also note that we plan to use the self-capture technology in the classroom and it has been unreliable in the past. We may not be able to record all lectures and some recordings may be of low quality as we do not have access to professional help for recording.

Does this course satisfy the Engineering Fundamentals requirement for CS majors?

Yes.

Will there be any assignments or exams during Finals Week?

No. The final assignment for the course will be due during the last week of classes.

What programming language will we use for the projects?

The projects will involve coding in Python in a Jupyter Notebook. We will help you set up your coding environment in the beginning of the quarter.
